Morbier
Morbier is a delicious dessert cheese from the French Jura mountains. The cheese is made from pasteurised morning and evening milk, separated by the distinctive black vein.
Morbier
Morbier is a semi-hard cheese from the French Jura mountains. Since 1998, this special cheese has been protected with the AOC seal. To bear this seal, however, the cheese must meet a number of conditions.
For example, the cheese may only be made from the milk of cows fed on hay, grass and herbs from the Jura mountains. In addition, the cheeses must be made from different milkings.
The morning and evening milkings. These two milkings are separated by a thin black vein. This used to be done to protect the morning milkings from insects, among other things.
The different milkings give this special 45+ kaas a particularly creamy and spicy aroma.
Serving Morbier
This special cheese will look great on a nice dessert board. A fruity red or white wine is delicious with a piece of Morbier. A fruity beer or a glass of port is also delicious in combination with this dessert cheese.
