Low-salt cheese
The recipe for Gouda cheese is hundreds of years old. Salt not only makes the cheese very tasty, but also has a very important function in the preparation of cheese. Once the cheeses are prepared, they are given time to lie in a brine bath for several days.
A brine bath is best described as a salt bath. As the cheeses are allowed to rest for several days in this bath, the salt is absorbed into the cheeses, making them firm and flavourful.
Cheese with low-sodium salt
Low-salt cheeses are prepared with a different type of salt than normal cheeses. Low-sodium diet salt is used. This makes the cheese a lot healthier and makes these cheeses extremely suitable for people on low-salt diets. Natria cheese has a delicious creamy flavour and is matured using traditional methods.
