Gorgonzola is a blue mould cheese originating from northernItalië. The cheese is made from pasteurised whole cow's milk. Its distinctive flavour comes from the fungus Penicillium Glaucum. The name of this cheese comes from the town of the same name in north-eastern Italië. Gorgonzola is a special cheese with a protected designation of origin. This allows the cheeses to be made only in this region.
