French Emmentaler
French Emmentaler is a delicious firm cheese with a wonderful nutty flavor. Characterized by its large eyes, the holes in the cheese makes it one of the most famous hole cheeses in the world.
French Emmental
The origin of this world-famous hole cheese is in Zwitserland, more precisely in the Emmental valley in the canton of Bern. On the Alpine pastures, farmers had many cows grazing which produced huge amounts of milk. Because the farmers lived too far away from cities, they could not trade the milk and decided to turn it into long-life cheese: Emmental cheese. Characteristic are the large holes in this cheese that make it a world-famous hole cheese.
Emmentaler is also produced in the French Alpine region: French Emmentaler. The cheeses are made with pasteurized milk and have a delicious nutty flavor.
Processing French Emmentaler

It is also possible to incorporate the cheese into different dishes. For example, this French Emmental cheese is delicious in a cheese fondue with Gruyère. Of course, it is also possible to use this cheese when you want to au gratin dishes.
