This young cumin cheese is creamy and nutty in flavour. During the preparation process of these cheeses, cumin seeds are added and stirred through the mass. This ensures that the seeds are spread throughout Cheese wheel.
Next, our cumin cheeses are ripened in our traditional ripening house on wooden boards. After about 12 weeks, our young mature cumin cheeses are ready. This results in a delicious mild nutty flavour.
The cumin plant
This plant is native to the Middle East and belongs to the umbellifer family. The seeds are hidden in the fruits of these plants. The aromatic seeds have a slightly peppery and nutty flavour.
Processing young matured whole cumin cheese
Cumin cheese is delicious on a brown slice of bread. In this combination, the creamy taste of this cheese comes out well. Of course, it is also very nice to eat this cheese on its own, with drinks or on a cheeseboard.
Young mature cumin cheese can also be used very well in various hot dishes. You can, for instance, use it in a stew or when baking pancakes.
