Our extra-ripe cumin cheeses have a spicy nutty flavour. The cumin seeds are stirred into the mass during the cheese-making process. This ensures that the nutty flavour spreads nicely over the Cheese wheel.
The cheeses are then ripened on wooden boards in our own ripening house. There, they are given at least 26 weeks to mature. Our cheeses need this time to develop their flavour. The end product is a delicious spicy and nutty flavour.
The cumin plant
This plant is native to the Middle East and belongs to the umbellifer family. The seeds are hidden in the fruits of these plants. The aromatic seeds have a slightly peppery and nutty flavour.
Processing extra matured whole cumin cheese
Our extra mature cumin cheese is still easy to slice, which tastes delicious on a sandwich, for example. It is natural to eat this cheese over drinks, on a cheeseboard or just on the go.
Also try incorporating extra mature cumin cheese into one of your dishes. Thanks to the spicy seeds, all your dishes will get a delicious spicy bite.
