True cheese lovers will really appreciate this cumin cheese. Our mature cumin cheeses are given no less than 3 years to ripen in our own ripening house. Our own cheese master regularly inspects the colour, smell and taste of our cumin cheeses with a cheese drill.
Then the cheeses are turned again, this way we ensure that the cumin cheeses ripen evenly. When the cumin cheeses have beautiful protein crystals, this is the sign for us that the cheeses have matured perfectly.
The cumin plant
This plant is native to the Middle East and belongs to the umbellifer family. The seeds are hidden in the fruits of these plants. The aromatic seeds have a slightly peppery and nutty flavour.
Processing perennial whole cumin cheese
Perennial cumin cheese is generally not eaten on bread. However, this cheese is the perfect addition to a cheeseboard, for example. Delicious with a good glass of port. It is also possible to use aged cumin cheese in a salad or a pasta dish, for example.
